Moving house

Eck, its that time again - house move.  After decades of a techno nomad lifestyle of moving to where the contracts are, it has become time to move along again.

Although we’re only moving three miles West, the sheer logistics of moving this much computing and dive equipment amazes me.

Happy first birthday iPhone

It is hard to believe when you consider the impact that the iPhone has had in its short life, but this revolutionary computing platform is only just one year old on the 29 June.

We are now only a couple of weeks away from Worldwide launch of the iPhone’s elder sibling, the iPhone 3G that promises to add higher speed browsing, third-party applications and enterprise groupware features.  Existing iPhone users will also be able to download the iPhone 2.0 operating system enabling the same third-party applications and enterprise groupware features as the iPhone 3G.

On top of this, Apple have announced that iPhone users will now be able to use the UK’s largest wifi hotspot network, BT OpenZone, free-of-charge in addition to the existing agreement with The Cloud.  This will add around 9,000 hotspots to those already provided by The Cloud.

Crave UK has a good photo album celebrating the iPhone’s first year.
